I have partipated in many walks for breast cancer and lately I have been meeting firefighters who complete these long distance walks wearing their turnouts (their fire fighting gear). At the Seattle 3 Day 60 mile walk in 2010, an entire team of firefighters walked all 60 miles in their turnouts and many of them also carried pink fire extinguishers. At a San Francisco Avon Walk (39 miles) a few years ago, I met a female firefighter team- again- all of them wore their turnouts the entire walk.
